KHNJ Onam 2019

Kerala Hindus Of New Jersey has begun a new chapter with a grand Onam program on 7th September, 2019. The program was very well attended by friends and families across NJ. The highlight of the event among other items was the sumptuous onam sadhya on the traditional vazhaila.

The event began with inviting Maveli with a procession followed by a beautiful rendering of Thiruvathira. As the tradition goes – The first offering of sadhya was served to god, in front of a lit nilavilallku and then served to over 200 guests that relived the experience of being back in Kerala.

The young and talented MCs for the event; Rithika and Diya did a phenomenal job and kicked off the cultural programs for the evening. Kids stole the limelight of the event that included a variety of dances, instrumentals and songs that was very well received.

On this auspicious occasion, KHNJ launched its first charity campaign that has already received a good traction.

The Community was excited and thankful to see KHNJ active again with their first Onam celebrations. They had requested the office bearers to conduct more community events and pledged their support and presence.

President Sanjeev Kumar introduced the new KHNJ team to the audience followed by laying out the vision for the organization that includes programs for strengthening the platform for kids, Charity, Volunteering & Reach Outs, Cultural activities and spiritual streams.
